HR Assistant - Maternity Cover A leading education charity are looking for an experienced HR Assistant as maternity cover.  Based in Central London, this role will be available for an immediate start on a 12 month Fixed-term basis. Reporting into the HR Manager, the role is to provide an administrative service to support the Human Resource function including:  Ensuring that all HR administrative tasks are carried out accurately and in line with the organisations policies and procedures:Recording and monitoring sickness absenceUpdating organisation chartsMaintaining the internal phone listResponding to external reference requestsSupporting the HR Manager with the administration of employment life cycle events and ensuring that all follow ups are completed:Collating data for Performance Development Review (PDR) processIssuing amendment to contract lettersProcessing end of fixed term contractsLeaver processActioning requests for staff training and development, including checking availability of budget to meet the request, sourcing training providers and dealing with all associated administrationMonitoring the right to work status for employees on a work permit/ visa and ensuring that the correct documentation is recorded and stored.Processing requests for paternity leave in accordance with the paternity leave policy and associated administrationAssist with the full recruitment and on boarding cycle in the absence of the Resourcing and HR AdvisorEnsuring that redundant files are appropriately archived offsite and recorded internallyProcessing invoices and logging spend against departmental budgetsMaintaining the company's gifts and hospitality register and highlight anything controversial to the Director of HRActing as note taker during a formal processCarrying out any other tasks as requiredWorking with the Payroll Officer on monthly payroll preparation together with, the processing of monthly absence reports and centre staff rotasEnsuring statutory training needs are met, eg First Aid and Fire Marshals certificates are up to date and that annual payments for staff fulfilling these roles are madeUpdating the Human Resources Information System, ensuring that data is correctly entered and the system is kept up to date of all changes. This also includes activating and de-activating accounts for new starters and leavers as necessaryDealing with requests for DSE assessments/maternity risk assessments and managing follow-ups as required and completing relevant reportsMaintaining employee files and records, ensuring only permitted information is stored, and that job descriptions, training records and correspondences are up to date   ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:  Experience of working in an HR and training environmentExperience in an administrative roleComputer literate in MS Office packagesRobust communication skills (verbal and written)Excellent attention to detailAbility to multi-taskAbility to work on own initiative and without close supervisionGood knowledge of employment lawExperience of working with databases and reportingAbility to communicate HR protocols and procedures to managersAn understanding and commitment to, the values of accountability, probity, openness and diversityAbility to handle highly sensitive situations with empathy and sympathyCustomer focused and driven on by fulfilment in reaching high standards/quality   If you are interested in being submitted for this role or would like to discuss any other potential HR opportunities, please contact Richard Grove at Pro-HR   The consists of four distinct brands: ProTax, ProLegal, ProFinance and ProHR
