An excellent opportunity has been made available by my client an established Housing Provider for two Housing Support Worker's in Hereford. Both of these positions are for the duration of 4 - 5 months with the view for an extension, full time hours (37.5). The role is shift based, Morning shift is 07:00 am - 15:30 pm and the afternoon shifts is 13:30 pm - 21:30 pm, with some flexibility to work one weekend in every three weeks. Suitable candidates must have a Enhanced DBS that is current and within the last 12 months. Candidate with a DBS on the Online Update Service is desirable. No Personal Care, Medicine Administration and Sleep In's are required. The rate of pay is £9..00 per hour on PAYE plus Holiday Pay OR £11.30 per hour on Umbrella / Limited. This is a fast paced service that delivers housing related support to customers with the view to enabling service users to integrate into the community and live as independently as possible. Candidates must have experience of having worked in the supported living sector, supporting service users with various complex support needs ranging from alcohol/ drug addiction, homelessness and mental health. The role is location based. As a Housing Support Worker you will need to enable clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate) to enjoy a range of food and support them to buy their food from various places including markets/ super markets or specialist shops. You will need to work with clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate) to help them devise strategies to assist them with their budgeting and provide advice and guidance and sign post them to other relevant agencies if necessary. Part of your role will be to support clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate) with other life skills such as welfare benefits/ employment/ education/training/volunteering/apprenticeships where appropriate. You will need to enable clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate) to make their own appointments with other professionals and to work with them to enable them to make their own choices about the support they require.
