An award winning primary School in Peckham is seeking experienced Teaching Support Assistants to start after half term. There are both part time and full time positions available for KS1 and 2. You must be able to provide tailored support to the pupil you have been assigned, on a 1:1 basis, as the school caters for pupils with a wide range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities. At times you will be required to assist during group activities. The vast majority of students are on the autistic spectrum and have social and communication difficulties so you must be able to tailor your approach to suit the needs of the pupils you are working with. All students have a statement of special educational needs and pupils generally come from within Southwark Local Authority.

1:1 Teaching Support Assistant:

* Must be available for 3 days a week minimum, 8:30am – 16:00pm.
* Must have 1 year experience minimum in an SEN school/provision.
* Must have experience using PECS and Makaton.
* Additional approaches to teaching, such as Music therapy and Rebound Therapy are preferred.
* We welcome all bilingual teaching assistants as a very high percentage of the pupils have English as an additional language and are from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds.

Please apply now if you would like to be considered for this teaching assistant opportunity in a outstanding and very welcoming school in the Peckham area. Alternatively, please call Fatjona at Teaching Personnel on 02075933070 for additional information.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
