The Company and the Role:
Independently owned Southampton based restaurant and bar, looking for a talented and permanent Assistant General Manager with flair and ambition, in an amazing flag ship venue, supporting the General Manager.
The venue is part of a well-known group of award winning and recognised bars and restaurants, offering a wide range and styles of fresh menu choices and uniquely themed drinks lists.
The Company is offering 48 hours per week (including weekends and evenings). With a basic salary ranging from �23K - �24K plus tips and bonus on top, and a host of additional benefits.

The restaurant and bar is a well-known venue in the city, which has some of the best creative and imaginative events available to its members (corporate and consumer) as well as to the general public.

Key Features of the Role:
The Company takes great pride in the quality and diversity of the experience they offer guests, through attentive, passionate and friendly staff.
As Assistant General Manager, you will assist the General Manager in all duties which will include; cashing up, employee scheduling, using HR software, stock control, stock ordering and company compliance in a hip and contemporary bistro-bar.
It's your job to manage a team both front and back of house on a daily basis, and to ensure that the customer's expectations are met and exceeded every time they visit.
Working on your own initiative and helping to create ideas and promotions and marketing to push the business forwards, and to increase footfall.
You will be a great team player with good organisational skills with the ability to thrive in a very busy restaurant and bar, where the Company's reputation for consistently preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to the right quality, is second to none.

Knowledge and Skills:
You must be an accomplished Assistant Manager or Assistant General Manager, currently working in and running a bar or restaurant environment, at a similar level of seniority when the General Manager is away.
You must have a catering and hospitality industry background showing progression up to a level of seniority, utilizing excellent customer service skills and desire to exceed expectations.
You should possess a great team ethic and ambition to continually assist your work colleagues to develop their core skills, talent and careers, as well as pushing yourself to develop and improve where necessary.
You will be an excellent team player and leader who can respectfully communicate to a team, with a proven track record of working from your own initiative, gaining trust and commitment from your guests as well as your team.
You should have experience of a cocktail bar and restaurant service, as well as excellent customer service and hospitality skills.
