Operation & Maintenance Engineer (Offshore Wind Farm Performance Analyst) London £42000 - £52500 Scottish Power UK PLC You must have the following: Computer literacy, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office components especially Excel and database packages, eg Microsoft Access as well as an ability to deal with new software. An intermediate to advanced level of fluency in at least one programming language (eg. C++, Matlab, Python) and an understanding of simulations/modelling Able to lead a small team and give them appropriate delegation and levels of support Main Responsibilities As Offshore Performance Analyst, you will support the Offshore O&M manager in analysing and reporting on the performance and integrity of the offshore wind assets in our offshore wind projects. In particular, you will be focused on the access and logistics aspects. Daily and monthly reporting of OWF performance and integrity - working with our standardised corporate tools where possible. The analysis of wind farm and turbine operational data such as energy production, wind speed and turbine availability data, alarms; The synthesis of a large number of information sources into concise, accurate and useful reporting Liaising with Operation & Maintenance teams as well as Technical and Engineering staff in the UK and Europe; Create performance KPIs for offshore wind maintenance and benchmark our performance. For future projects in the pipeline: Run Business case weather downtime calculations as required by the project to inform logistics decisions. Run other Business case calculations (excl. WDT calcs.) as required - examples are estimations of contractual carve outs, OSS availability, BOP availability. Analyse weather downtime and therefore best vessel strategy for major repair projects. Other tools may be required in order to answer the offshore-specific questions that senior management will require. The engineer will need to: Put in place the necessary databases, querying programs etc to analyse Top alarms causing lost production and WTG data for reports to management and prioritising issues for investigation. Look at ways to store, process and retrieve intelligent information from the huge amounts of SCADA data. Develop proposals with and co-ordinate through our central systems team. Skills, Knowledge & Experience A degree or equivalent in physics, mathematics or an engineering discipline; Computer literacy, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office components especially Excel and database packages, eg Microsoft Access as well as an ability to deal with new software. An intermediate to advanced level of fluency in at least one programming language (eg. C++, Matlab, Python) and an understanding of simulations/modelling Able to lead a small team and give them appropriate delegation and levels of support High degree of self-motivation with a flexible approach to work. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Data mining and handle large data sets and time series skills in SQL Experience with SAP CMMS is desirable Excellent command in English is essential Experience in deploying automated reporting solution is desirable Essential A degree or equivalent in physics, mathematics or an engineering discipline; Computer literacy, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office components especially Excel and database packages, eg Microsoft Access as well as an ability to deal with new software.
