Teaching Personnel are currently working on behalf of a ‘Good’ junior school in the city of Mackworth, who are looking to recruit teaching assistants for September. The school is mainstream primary with an Autism Unit and a high percentage of SEN students in each class.

The role offers a varied and ever changing environment in which members of staff work flexibly to support vulnerable students with autism and communication difficulties. The role is full-time with the offer of a permanent contract for those who excel in post.

The primary function of this post is to work collaboratively with the team supporting students in developing students confidence, self-esteem, increasing school participation and to generally cultivate greater aspirations to achieve, not only in education but in the their lives as a whole.

The ideal candidate:

* Previous experience of working within an education or youth work setting

* Recently worked with SEN students, such as students with Autism and Challenging Behaviour
* Is able to us alternative ways to communicate such Makaton and PECS (NOT essential)
* An up to date working knowledge of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum
* A valid Child Workforce DBS registered to the update service (Can be done through Teaching Personnel)
* Willing to work with a varied age range and ability

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
