This is an exciting opportunity to join the Data & Information Service Team working in the Development & Test Teams.

Your main objective as a Developer will be to design and develop data solutions in order to create management information for stakeholders & colleagues. You will also ensure that data used by the Society which is transferred between internal systems; and transferred between the Society and other bodies - is fit for purpose.

As part of the Data & Information Services Team, you will be working alongside other SQL Developers, Testers, and Analysts, as well as colleagues from across the organisation to deliver trusted solutions that meet the Society’s information needs.

Main responsibilitiesThe role needs someone with SQL development experience and good knowledge of developing a data warehouse. They need to be creative, respond well to challenges on a day-to-day basis and be comfortable working with ambiguity.

We are looking for someone who has excellent problem solving skills, is logical, and has a desire to deliver a great service to our stakeholders, whilst looking to develop themselves.

We specifically need someone with experience so they can start to contribute to our project and BAU work streams immediately whilst supporting and mentoring less experienced members of the team.

You will act as a lead developer for small and large development projects, whilst working from high level designs to develop resilient, high-performance database solutions that conform to the company’s existing standards.

You will take responsibility and ownership of project based tasks focusing on the development & testing stage, but also providing support where necessary throughout the product life cycle.

Good communication skills are essential, and an ability to communicate with all levels of seniority and technical ability.
Ideal candidateRequired skills:

TSQL (advanced)
SSIS (advanced)
Dimensional Modelling (Kimball)
Exposure to BI Testing

Desirable skills:

SSAS Multidimensional / Tabular
Working with source code control environment (i.e. TFS source control)
Exposure to Power BI

The package is fully dependent on your experience and full training and development will be provided.
