LOCATION: Milton Keynes

JOB TITLE: Support Worker

SALARY & BENEFITS: £8.75 per hour + sleep in payments 

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 hours per week or part time hours will be considered. You will be required to work evenings and weekends on a rota basis. 

THE COMPANY: We are currently working with a charity who provides unique person centred support, based on a modern view of the charities movement. The service is for adults with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorders. 

THE ROLE: The Support Worker will support the service users with their general welfare, housing related tasks and pursuing their social and educational activities. You will ensure they have detailed person centred plans to include agreed goals and action plans that assist them in achieving and maintaining independent life skills. 

Key Responsibilities for the Support Worker role to include:- 

• Ensure that service users experience a safe, healthy and purposeful environment 
• Prepare & maintain written needs and risk assessments and support plan for service users 
• To support people in making their own decisions and informed choices and to assist them in promoting and maintaining their independence 
• Support Service Users to manage their own finances, budgeting and dealing with statutory bodies
• To support people to access a range of leisure activities and other services 
• To support people to manage their personal care and health needs 
• To work with people to ensure planning of healthy diet choice and support with meal preparation and cooking 

THE CANDIDATE: The successful applicant will need to be able to work on their own initiative and have a caring and supportive attitude. You will also have the ability to present clear written information, including oral presentation. Ideally you will have experience working within a care environment, however full training will be given to the right applicant. 

Key experience essential for the role of the Support Worker:- 

• Live within a commutable distance to Milton Keynes
• Willing to complete a DBS check at employment stage
