Business Development Lead (Defence and Space)

Location: Reading, RG1 1PE

Salary: �40,000 - �45,000 per annum plus Commission scheme

So, if you are keen to join our journey and grow with us we are currently seeking a Business Development Lead for the Defence and Space sector. You should already have knowledge and experience of this market either gained through work experience within a sales role or maybe through your experience in the military.

You will work closely with the Marketing and Product teams to develop a strong understanding of the company's service portfolio and managed service offerings. Your main responsibilities will be driving and executing target sales and plans in line with strategic sales initiatives. You will have already demonstrated the confidence and professionalism in leading efforts to establish and retain business growth opportunities, primarily obtaining new clients and forecasting business relationships to help increase revenue from sales.

Duties of the Business Development Lead:

* Proactivity identify, assess and develop new business opportunities within the allocated target market and manage the relevant sales resources to effectivity pursue those opportunities.
* Engage with relevant prospects to understand their objectives, decision making and buying processes.
* Manage client account(s) and take a lead role in client planning and development.
* Create and implement a target sales plan based on the market strategy building a pipeline for new business

Requirements of the Business Development Lead:

* Proven track record in managing complex customer and stakeholder relationships
* Demonstrable success in working in a managed service environment, with in-depth and practical knowledge of ITIL best practice
* Experience in contractual and commercial negotiations
* In depth understanding of UK Government Security Classifications
* Excellent verbal, analytical, written and presentation skills
* Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
* Degree from an accredited institution
* Demonstrable experience of sales/partner relationship management in a business within a sales environment
* Ability to obtain or hold security clearance.
