The Property Ombudsman provides a free, impartial and independent service, helping to resolve disputes between Consumers and Property Agents. It is the largest Ombudsman scheme in the sector and the only one to operate Codes of Practice to raise standards and share best practice in the industry. It is a not-for-profit organisation and has been providing a free and impartial dispute resolution service for more than 27 years.

The Role
The key purpose of the Customer Service Advisor role is to provide high quality frontline customer service by offering information and guidance to consumers and agents quickly and sensitively.

In order to achieve this, the main duties include: providing a high quality telephone enquiry service, creating detailed records during telephone conversations (live logging), providing guidance on TPO procedures, determining if a complaint falls within the Ombudsman's Terms of Reference and to advise and progress accordingly, giving guidance to members of the public and agents with regards to progressing a complaint/TPO Code of Practice, administering appropriate Customer Service surveys on a weekly basis, keeping all material up-to-date, advising the Line Manager of any changes / trends that would be beneficial to the scheme, producing letters and documentation according to Office procedures, referring to other members of staff for advice when appropriate.

The Candidate
To be considered for the Customer Service Advisor position, you will have the following education, skills and attributes:

* Good general education to include English and Maths GCSE Grade 4 or above (or equivalent qualification)
* Ability to work under pressure to meet targets; resilience and tenacity
* Ability to maintain a rapport with challenging consumers
* Ability to use initiative
* Team player with the ability to work independently
* Competent in the use of Microsoft Products
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills
* Impartiality and diplomacy skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to retain high level of information

It would be great if you also have:

* Call centre experience
* Live-call logging experience
* External customer service experience
