WORKING HOURS: 39 per week – Shift Pattern

THE COMPANY: Our client who runs a fleet of 88 buses with 240 drivers from their Peterborough based depot are now looking to recruit a Shift Fitter / Mechanic to join their team in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

THE ROLE: The role of Mechanic / Vehicle Technician, you will be based at the Peterborough depot where you will part of a dedicated team in “keeping the show on the road”. Your role will vary as you will use your skills and knowledge to undertake all aspects of vehicle maintenance, service and repair on the fleet of buses.

As a Mechanic / Vehicle Technician, you will be required to work a rolling 5 over 7-day shift patterns, which includes early and late hours and optional overtime.

Key Responsibilities:
• Repairing and maintaining the Company's fleet of modern vehicles to a high
• Carrying our roadside and running repairs as a necessary standard
• Carrying out preventative maintenance

THE CANDIDATE: Shift Fitter / Mechanic (PCV/HGV)-Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
We are looking for a friendly, flexible and reliable Mechanic (PCV/HGV experience desirable, but not essential) who is able to work on their own initiative and will enjoy being part of a friendly and dedicated team. You will be City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualified and previous experience in the motor/HGV/PCV industry is highly advantageous, but newly qualified mechanics/ technicians looking for a career will be considered and trained

Key experience essential for the role:

You should ideally be qualified to the following level: City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in mechanics

• Ideally have experience in a similar role from a mechanical background (Commercial/ HGV/PSV) but will consider newly qualified mechanics/Technicians
• Have a full UK driving licence
• HGV or PCV licence would be desirable but not essential
• Able to work evenings and weekends on a rota’s shift pattern basis
