Fazakerley Based School

Catholic School under the Liverpool Archdiocese

Graded GOOD by Ofsted

Experience working alongside children with ASC, particularly in the development of social and communication needs is a necessity.

A Catholic School in the heart of Fazakerley L9, who work under the Liverpool Archdiocese and in partnership with Teaching Personnel have approached the agency in order to source a member of staff. The role that has been specified by the School is to begin from as early as next week and will continue for the foreseeable, with the expectation being until the end of the academic year (and with the view to applying for the role for a September start).

The role is one that will require a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is keen to make a difference in the classroom and also make a difference to an individual child's life. The child who requires 0.8 of the timetable in support is currently working with the P-Scale levels and so the School are keen to implement a number of intervention sessions. They are hoping with the quality of Teaching Assistant and the well structured intervention, they will be able to see a difference with the child within half a term. The Head teacher has mentioned that the successful candidate will be someone who has good English and Maths subject knowledge and pedagogy, and also someone who possesses a nurturing personality as the child does have difficulty building relationships with new members of staff.

As this is a specialist teaching assistant role, the school will be looking to question the applying candidates about their recent experience working alongside children with Autism. You must be able to provide information on how you have previously raised standards in the classroom and how you can impact further in this School.

The School is currently working under the Liverpool Archdiocese and so they will ensure the Christian faith is upheld and the ethos is promoted. The Head teacher specified also that they will not be looking actively for someone with a Christian faith, but the applying applicants must be able to uphold the Christian ethos.

There are a number of pre-requisites in order to apply for this role through Teaching Personnel; you must hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or above; you must have a Maths and English GCSE at C grade or above; you must have experience in working alongside children with Autism; you must be fun and engaging.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
