Maintenance Engineering Apprentice

Location: Glasgow Recycling and Renewables Energy Centre (GRREC)

As our Maintenance Engineering Apprentice, we'll help you to become qualified enabling you to carry out planned preventative maintenance, general maintenance of equipment, modifying and testing and inspecting, condition-based monitoring and fault finding with our systems. You'll be helping to maintain and improve systems on our sites where required and working on technology which monitors and controls all aspects of processes and their performance across the site.

Health and safety is front and centre of everything we do at Viridor, therefore part of the role will also be to carry out risk assessment and method statements to ensure activities are completed in a safe manner at all times whilst also achieving efficient operation of the Beddington ERF where targets are achieved safely, economically and within environmental limits of the plant.

With a positive can-do attitude, a willingness to learn and demonstrable commitment to the Apprenticeship Scheme, we will provide full support and training to become a highly skilled Maintenance Technician/Engineer who will maintain the state of the art electro/mechanical systems utilised in our world leading Energy Recovery Facilities.

We're looking for someone who has an interest in engineering, a minimum of five GCSE's (Grade C/5 or above) including Maths, English and Science. The successful person will also demonstrate a good standard of Microsoft Office, have strong problem solving, team working and organisational skills, able to work to deadlines and is highly self-motivated.

This position will require response to plant and equipment breakdowns both during normal working hours and outside of normal working hours as appropriate.
