The Company:
- We are working with a leading main contractor who work mainly with private sector clients building projects across the North West.
- They have enjoyed significant continued growth over the last 10 years in the North West and have a great pipeline of work.
- They are cash rich, have a fantastic client base and have a really good training and development programme and are also on a number of the leading NW procurement frameworks.

The Role:
- They are now in a position to add to their commercial team as they're promoting one of their Intermediate Quantity Surveyors and would like to replace him on his current mutli storey apartment development in Manchester City Centre.
- They require an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor capable of juggling a number of subcontract packages on this scheme working with a highly experienced Senior QS who will provide support and guidance.
- Ongoing support will be provided by the Senior Quantity Surveyor and the rest of the commercial team.
- Following the completion of this initial work you will either focus on some follow on schemes for this client or can transfer to other schemes within the business.

General responsibilities will include the following:
- Through effective cost control you will be tasked with helping to maximise value, minimise liabilities and ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained.
- Undertake commercial and contractual requirements on the designated projects in accordance with the company procedures and processes.
- Ensuring sound financial performance including profitability, cash flow, and managing risks and opportunities.
- Preparation of accurate and detailed monthly cost reports for review with the Commercial team.
- Some working knowledge and application of Main Contract and Sub-Contract Forms and Standard Method of Measurement.
- Helping to prepare and agree Monthly Valuations, including valuing variations and forecasting final accounts.
- Appointment of Subcontractors in accordance with Company Procedures, including procurement and account management including valuations, payment notices and agreement of final accounts.
- To work closely with Contracts Management to ensure all required site records and correspondence are completed in accordance with the specific Contract requirements and Company Procedures.
- Maintain close working relationship with the client and design team to assist in the success of the project.
- Liaise with Site Management to review and monitor project costs whilst achieving high standards of quality and health and safety.

- Ideally, they would like to recruit a Quantity Surveyor with 3-4 years+ practical experience who is carrying out the role as described above for a main contractor or sub-contractor with good contractual knowledge.
- Your head office base is also in Manchester, you will be principally site based.
- You will be IT literate - comfortable using MS Office and specifically Excel.
- Good time management and communication skills.
